Great recap of the power of Ping An. I was very fortunate to be hosted by Ericson Chan, the previous CEO of Ping An Technology at their headquarters in Shenzhen in January. It was an amazing meeting where he explained how embedded Ping An is in every consumer's life. Much of this was supported by the government with data shared between public and private entities.

Ping An's role in the development of the 'smart city' infrastructure in combination with Huawei and other entities is astounding as is the integration of B2C and B2B worlds. For instance, when an accident occurs, the smart cameras on every corner, immediately result in the notification of emergency dispatch, a notification to the hospital that is most ready to support the injured, rerouting of traffic around the incident and insurance claim processing before the vehicle is moved from the scene. The family of the identified driver and any passengers are notified immediately through facial recognition.

In addition, as part of their vehicle insurance business, they track everything about their customer's activity to such a degree that they know when a person is shopping for a vehicle and can inform manufacturers about the brand, style and even color that the consumer will purchase before the transaction happens. Obviously, this helps with just-in-time delivery and factory floor decisions.

Science fiction in real life.
